Freeformers digital skills training

Freeformers

Freeformers was one of Europe’s first B Corp technology businesses and put its social mission at the heart of the commercial model. The business created digital skills learning programmes for a wide range of FTSE corporates including Barclays Bank, HSBC, Virgin Money, Tesco, and the Civil Service. The programmes were delivered by a mixture of online learning and peer to peer in person sessions. It was the in person delivery that Freeformers excelled versus large consultancy competitors because their coaches better reflected the workforce and customers of the large consumer brands going through the programmes. The key to unlocking this training advantage at scale was how Freeformers applied their social mission - for every corporate employee they trained they trained a young person for free, and many of these young people were then employed by Freeformers as coaches. This gave new employment to young people and Freeformers access to a unique training network that could be deployed cost-effectively at scale, helping them win new training contracts.

Adam was a founding partner of Freeformers and worked with the fabulous team there to develop and deliver the business’s integrated social and commercial growth model.

The business is presently applying for B Corp status and using the qualification process to establish best practice ways of working across sustainability actions, business partnerships, and community programmes. Adam will happily talk for hours about the plans and is using the B Corp process to test potential partnerships, support platforms and thinking of ways to use the experience to help Good Growth Consulting clients.
